On May 11, Nanjing held an AI + Manufacturing roadshow to showcase innovative achievements of AI-enabled manufacturing, and boost the high-quality development of the manufacturing industry through benchmark applications of artificial intelligence. Li Zhongjun, Mayor of Nanjing, attended and delivered a speech, while Jiang Min, Vice Mayor, presided over the event. Invited to participate, Luculent delivered a roadshow presentation entitled Construction of Intelligent Operation and Maintenance Datasets for Key Production Equipment in Industrial Enterprises and Practical Application in Scenarios.
Mayor Li Zhongjun pointed out that artificial intelligence technology is undergoing accelerated iteration and rapid development, and has become a core engine for fostering new quality productive forces and advancing high-quality development. The whole city shall seize major opportunities, amplify comparative advantages, comprehensively promote technological innovation and empowered application of AI, vigorously develop new forms of intelligent economy, and accelerate the all-round empowerment of all industries by artificial intelligence.
Prioritize innovation to refine, deepen and perfect products and services. Adhere to customer-centric thinking and demand orientation, focus on breakthroughs in vertical industry model research and development, intelligent agent development and deployment, and the launch of intelligent terminal products. Strive to accelerate AI-enabled manufacturing development with more high-quality products and services.

Give full play to the leading role of flagship enterprises, drive small and medium-sized enterprises to deepen scenario-based application, and continuously raise the AI application coverage rate of industrial enterprises above designated size.
Strengthen cooperation to realize complementary advantages and powerful collaboration between the software and manufacturing industries. Leverage Nanjing’s distinctive strengths in the software and information industry, support the establishment of industrial innovation alliances, build platforms for docking and cooperation, and promote collaborative innovation and in-depth cooperation between software enterprises and manufacturers.
Increase policy support to foster a sound ecosystem for AI + Manufacturing. Optimize the efficient scheduling of computing power resources, build and leverage high-quality AI datasets, give better play to the guiding and leveraging role of industrial funds, accelerate the gathering of professional talents in the AI sector, and lay a solid foundation for Nanjing to build itself into a benchmark city for the AI Plus strategy.
Experts from Luculent noted that intelligent operation and maintenance (O&M) of key industrial production equipment is no longer merely a tool for enterprises to cut costs at individual points. Instead, it has evolved into a fundamental and strategic core capability that underpins manufacturing transformation and upgrading and safeguards the security and stability of industrial chains.
The industry is currently facing three prominent dilemmas:First, overemphasis on platforms while neglecting data, resulting in idle models and difficulty in scenario implementation.Second, reliance on post-failure emergency repairs rather than early prediction, keeping losses from unplanned downtime persistently high.Third, difficulty in the digital inheritance of expert experience, leading to talent gaps and the absence of unified O&M standards.
With 27 years of in-depth dedication to industrial digitalization, Luculent has concluded from extensive industry practices that the biggest bottleneck for industrial AI implementation lies not in algorithms, but in the lack of systematic, scenario-based and high-reliability high-quality industrial datasets. The essence of intelligent O&M is to systematically convert equipment operation rules, implicit experience of frontline senior technicians, and industrial process mechanisms into reusable, replicable and evolvable industrial capabilities via data standardization, knowledge graph construction and model engineering.
In response to these challenges, Luculent adheres to a development path of taking data as the foundation, large models as the core, scenarios as the orientation, and ecosystem as the carrier. Based on the SunSure Industrial Internet Platform, the company has built a full-stack industrial AI technical architecture, taken the lead in jointly establishing seven cross-industry high-quality O&M datasets, and developed a knowledge system integrating six databases into one. It has accumulated TB-level equipment data and tens of thousands of sample and fault cases, consolidating the data and knowledge foundation for industrial intelligent O&M.
Relying on high-quality datasets, Luculent has closed the full lifecycle O&M loop for equipment, and pioneered an implementation paradigm of small models for front-end perception and early warning, large models for in-depth mechanism analysis, and multi-agent collaborative closed-loop decision-making. This realizes the digitalization of expert experience, visualization of implicit knowledge, and intellectualization of O&M workflows, driving a fundamental transformation of the O&M model from manual experience-driven to data intelligence-driven.
The solutions have been successfully deployed in power, coal mining, steel, chemical and other industries, enabling accurate prediction of potential equipment defects, substantially cutting O&M costs, reducing downtime losses and optimizing energy consumption. Meanwhile, Luculent has released industrial standards and empowered ecological collaboration across the sector.
Luculent believes that future competition in industrial intelligent O&M will center on high-quality datasets and industrial knowledge systems. Aligned with Nanjing’s overall industrial development layout of AI + Manufacturing, Luculent will further deepen its layout in industrial equipment intelligent O&M, take high-quality datasets as the core, strengthen in-depth integration of large models with industrial scenarios, cooperate with partners to build a new industrial AI ecosystem, and contribute wisdom and strength to Nanjing’s ambition of building a highland for intelligent manufacturing.
At the event, the Nanjing Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology introduced the city’s progress in advancing the AI + Manufacturing initiative. Enterprises including Nanjing Iron & Steel, ZTE Corporation and NR Electric delivered roadshow presentations. Expert representatives from research institutes, leading enterprises and industry associations commented on the roadshow projects.
