Recently, the "AI Energy-Saving Optimization Technology for Dust Removal Fans in the Steel Industry," developed by Luculent Sunchang for Kunming Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. of Wuhan Iron and Steel Group, successfully passed the rigorous review and panel evaluation by industry experts organized by the China Iron and Steel Association and the National Energy Conservation Center. It has been selected for inclusion in the "Extreme Energy Efficiency Capability List (2025 Edition)."


It is reported that the "Extreme Energy Efficiency Capability List" is a key initiative to accelerate the promotion of advanced energy-saving technologies and achieve energy efficiency improvements in the steel industry, following a strict selection process from hundreds of technical cases. This inclusion signifies that the energy-saving achievements of Kunming Steel and the technical strength of Luculent have received dual certification from national industry associations and authoritative institutions. It represents the advanced level of current industry efforts in energy conservation and emission reduction, providing replicable and promotable practical experience for extreme energy efficiency projects in the steel industry.


Anchored in the development direction of the "Dual Carbon" goals, Luculent Sunchang addresses the pain point of high energy consumption in dust removal fans. Covering major production processes such as raw material handling, coking, sintering, ironmaking, steelmaking, and continuous casting in steel smelting, the technology relies on the integration of AI and industrial internet. It uses AI digital-intelligent models to learn from and simulate massive time-series data on production processes, equipment operation, and energy consumption. This enables dynamic identification of the optimal control values for operational parameters that balance "production and energy conservation," which are then seamlessly integrated with the control system to automatically adjust key parameters. This ensures precise matching of air volume with real-time working conditions, achieving full-process optimization from "data collection - intelligent modeling - closed-loop control - energy efficiency analysis," and striving to create a dual benchmark for extreme energy efficiency and green development.


As a "pure software" retrofit solution, this approach requires no modification to the user's existing equipment and systems, no downtime for deployment, and does not affect production schedules. Deployment can be completed in as little as 15 days. It provides real-time monitoring and reporting functions, enabling timely awareness of equipment operating status and energy consumption, precise identification of issues, and reduced maintenance costs. By intelligently controlling and optimizing electricity usage patterns, it achieves a comprehensive electricity savings rate of 8% to 15%, promoting triple benefits in economic efficiency, environmental protection, and stable fan operation. Furthermore, it integrates visual recognition results as inputs linked with the energy consumption optimization model, forming a closed-loop operational system of "visual perception - AI optimization" to ensure dust concentration does not exceed standards.
