Baihetan Hydropower Plant is located in the lower reaches of the Jinsha River at the border of Ningnan County, Sichuan Province and Qiaojia County, Yunnan Province. It is a giant hydropower station with the world's largest single unit capacity and the world's second largest installed capacity, with a total installed capacity of 16,000 MW. It serves as the backbone power source for the national "West-East Power Transmission" strategy.

Based on the plant-wide business management requirements of Baihetan Hydropower Plant, the project is constructed in accordance with the "1+N" model, that is, building 1 independent and controllable technology platform + N smart applications. By introducing technologies such as low-code, process engine, analysis engine, artificial intelligence, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) tools and large language models (LLM), the original business is analyzed, optimized, split and reconstructed, and multiple smart applications are established to meet the business usage needs of various departments, and promote the evolution of the management and control platform to the power station management business middle platform.

项目图标20.png Technology Platform: Based on independent and controllable technologies, it realizes full-stack independent and controllable capabilities from CPU, server, operating system, database, middleware to application platform. On this basis, it provides components such as process management, low-code, artificial intelligence and mobile applications, to deliver technical capability support for the construction of smart applications.

项目图标20.png Smart Applications: Focusing on the core business requirements of Baihetan Hydropower Plant including production operation, equipment maintenance, human resources, cost management, it breaks down data and business barriers to realize interconnection of business data. Integrating technologies such as artificial intelligence and big data analysis, it has built ten major smart applications to promote the intelligent upgrade of the business management model, and achieve the goals of "unified entrance for integrated management, one-time entry for global use, process-driven intelligent management and control, and data-empowered scientific decision-making".

Against the backdrop of digital transformation during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, based on the management concept of "one sheet for tasks, one network for management and control", the project has realized the comprehensive upgrade of the intelligent management and control platform by integrating technologies such as big data and artificial intelligence, and achieved the following results:

  • 项目图标20.png Achieve business interconnection and efficient management and control. A work decision-making center has been established to break down departmental information silos and reduce delays caused by poor communication and information asymmetry. The project builds a "one sheet for tasks" to improve execution efficiency, creates a "one map for command" to coordinate work scheduling, and forms a "one network for management and control" to support task supervision. Meanwhile, functions such as smart canteen, smart vehicle management and smart meeting have been developed to reduce the workload of staff.

  • 项目图标20.png Complete domestic substitution and realize independent and controllable capabilities. The project has carried out domestic adaptation and code refactoring of the original applications, servers, operating systems and databases, which significantly improved the independent and controllable capability of the system, and laid a technical foundation for the operation safety and sustainable development of the power station itself.
