Recently, the Jiangsu Provincial AI Plus Energy Integrated Development Conference was held in Gulou District, Nanjing. With the theme "Boundless Intelligent Computing · Green Powering the Future", the conference aims to drive in-depth integrated innovation and practice of artificial intelligence and the energy industry.
Shen Jianrong, Vice Governor of Jiangsu Provincial People’s Government; Zhu Aixun, Director of Jiangsu Provincial Development and Reform Commission; and Lin Tao, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Nanjing Municipal Committee and Executive Vice Mayor of Nanjing, attended the conference and delivered addresses.
Also present were Qi Yusong, Deputy Director of Jiangsu Provincial Development and Reform Commission and Director of Jiangsu Energy Bureau; Zhao Chengjun, Director of Nanjing Municipal Development and Reform Commission; Wang Anwei, Secretary of CPC Gulou District Committee; Dong Han, Acting District Chief of Gulou District; and Yu Jian, Member of the Standing Committee of CPC Gulou District Committee and Executive Deputy District Chief of Gulou District.
The event gathered officials from provincial, municipal and district competent authorities, relevant persons in charge of development and reform commissions across prefecture-level cities, as well as representatives from 226 central SOEs, private enterprises and foreign-invested enterprises in the energy and power sector for business supply-demand docking. Expert delegates from 40 universities, research institutions, think tanks, financial institutions and industry associations also attended for academic and industrial exchanges.
Shen Jianrong noted that artificial intelligence is accelerating its penetration into the entire industrial chain of energy from production to consumption, injecting strong momentum into the green energy transition and high-quality economic and social development of Jiangsu Province. He expected all parties to collaborate closely, acting as the source of technological innovation, the architect of scenario application, and the pioneer of industrial ecology, so as to explore a replicable and promotable new path for the integrated development of the AI Plus energy industry.
At the conference, Zhu Aixun summarized the provincial achievements in green energy transition and digital intelligent empowerment. Tan Jianrong, Member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Hu Ming, Party Secretary of Electric Power Planning & Engineering Institute, delivered trend analysis on the integrated development of artificial intelligence and the energy industry during the 15th Five-Year Plan period.
Relevant officials from Jiangsu Provincial Development and Reform Commission gave an in-depth interpretation of the Implementation Plan for Promoting High-Quality Development of Artificial Intelligence Plus Energy in Jiangsu Province. Enterprise representatives shared application practices and typical scenarios in the AI Plus energy sector.
The Smart Operation and Monitoring System for Power Plants, jointly built by Jiangsu Guoxin Yangzhou Power Generation Co., Ltd. and Luculent, was selected as one of the eight major in-depth integration scenarios of AI Plus Energy in Jiangsu Province.
Realizing a landmark shift from manpower-based management to technology-based prevention, the system integrates mechanism models, AI models and expert knowledge into one. It assists operators in panel monitoring and operational guidance, enabling safer, more economical and eco-friendly operation of power generating units. Its intelligent early warning accuracy remains above 96%, appraised as internationally leading by the China Electric Power Engineering Society.
A signing ceremony for the first batch of professional large model service providers and application enterprises in Jiangsu’s vertical AI Plus energy sector was held on site.
Leveraging the Sunshine Yaoguang Industrial Large Model, Luculent and China Coal Intelligence will focus on fault early warning, diagnosis and full-process optimized operation & maintenance of key coal mine equipment. The two sides will replace empirical judgment with data-driven decision-making, and adopt proactive prevention instead of post-event remedy. AI will safeguard the safe operation of mine equipment and truly realize intelligent production featuring safety, efficiency and green development.
Jiangsu Guoxin Group and the People’s Government of Gulou District, Nanjing signed a strategic cooperation agreement on the high-quality development of AI Plus energy.
On the same day, Jiangsu Green Energy Building was officially inaugurated in Gulou District, the core functional area of Nanjing. The first batch of 18 leading central SOEs in the energy and power industry and AI Plus energy technology enterprises signed agreements to settle in.
